i5-4670 vs Intel i5-4690

Go to solution Solved by TheKDub,

Hi!

Like the title says what cpu is better?

I´m going to use the computer for gaming, titles like Bioshock,BF4,Skyrim,COD,Borderlands,Metro and college but this is simple some .pdf´s, MS Word that kind of thing

It will be working with a 780Ti

Any Motherboard suggestion is apreciated and has to be SLI compatible

To the CPU im going to OC a little bit and it will be cooled with a Hyper 212+ in push/pull config

THANKS! Any other suggestions for the biuld will be gratefully apreciated

If you want overclocking go with the i5 4690K instead of the 4690.

The 4690K is much better for overclocking than the 4670K, and is more than worth it for the few dollars extra.

Why not get a 4690K? If you are not over clocking don't get a 212 evo

are those CPU choice the K series?

SLi compatible board for cheap is the Z97 MSI SLi Plus mobo

and I will say pick the 4690K

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

One is 100mhz faster than the other, get whichever one is more affordable, the performance different won't be groundbreaking.

The i5 4690k is the best choice but it's ~$50 more. It's definatley worth it if you plan to OC it.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

I already have the 212

The type of change in currency is like

4670=3,637 mxn = 276 USD

4690=4226 mxn =  321 USD

So is a large gap between prices...

Sucks to live here... sighs

If we are talking about 4670(non K) vs 4690K then go for the 4690K if you can afford it, however if both CPUs are K versions then take the 4670K and save your money.
