Desktop or Laptop?

If Desktop, than what thekeemo said. For laptop, I can only say from my own experience that the batteries of a Macbook last for ever. You can leave that thing on standby for like a month and it will just drain a little bit.

What level of Video editing. iMovie or Pro stuff? For 1080p a Macbook Pro is totaly fine. I have used one for years to edit Videos. But I upgraded to PC, because iMovie has limited functionality. You can do green screen and all that stuff with iMovie though.

Got a budget though? The cheapest macbook has a i3 and it's about 800 dollars. It's also clocked at 2.7 GHz turbo, 1.3 default

I wouldn't buy a PC for simple school work.

I thought this was a joke. Why wouldn't you? I bought a Macbook Pro before getting into tech and all the money I spent on this could have gone towards an epic gaming desktop and a good school laptop. They are just soooo expensive for what you get.

I was wondering the same thing. When did Macs become necessary for school over Windows?

Have you ever used a Macbook on the go? Compared to Windows they seem to be much superior, especially if you have to make it through school with one charge. But for Desktops Windows wins.

Much more convenient.

I don't understand how a Macbook is more convenient. There's literally no benefit of a Macbook over a slim Windows-based laptop. If anything you get more for your money with a Windows-based laptop.

Yes I have and I couldn't stand it. There's literally nothing Mac OSX can do that makes Windows look inferior.

I used to have an M14X laptop and I would easily get more battery life out of it compared to my friend's 13" Macbook.

I would rather get a slim macbook for school. Just get a macbook pro with an i7 and install windows 8.1 on it if you'd ever need anything on it

Yeah you know... Getting dem specs for school, right? No not really, I'd rather get a macbook air, even with it's weak specs.

100% genuine.

If you have the cash to splash get a MacBook it will perform the same in 2 years that it does today and the battery will last you forever. I have a 2 year old 15" MacBook Pro Retina and it has not let me down even once.
