I was wondering, if i have to choose between R9 290 MSI and R9 290 Gigabyte, which would you recommend?

Neither, the sapphire tri-x or vapor-x if you can afford to spend a little more.

Between those 2 I think Gigabyte is a tad better regarding cooling.

But really try getting a Sapphire Tri-X or Vapor-X, XFX and Powercolor also bring good R9 290s to the table.

Frankly, I'd pick whichever one looks better for your build. They're both good.

gigabyte, honestly get whichever is cheaper, the performance difference is extremely small.

Gigabyte had some bs going on with two models and one was really bad so I'd go with the MSI one. IF I were in you, I'd save up for the tri-x which I currently have. It's amazing

I'm building a good looking PC, and to be honest TRI-X is ugly, so that is why i'm choosing between MSI and Gigabyte

Go with whatever fits in better with the color scheme

What's the requirements? The only thing that I can find "ugly" about the Tri-X is that it's orange. But the color is worth the sacrifice for a better card with a better cooler from a better AMD vendor that has better customer service.

You're the only person that's going to see it. Performance > looks.

 

If you're that picky about looks then get the msi since it has the back plate.

Get the Tri-x. MSI and Asus use the same coolers they use on Nvidia cards and they don't cool the VRM properly causing it to hit 100 degrees. Not sure about the gigabyte one though...
