Steelseries 5Hv3 Mic Issues

Hi, so I just bought the Steelseries 5Hv3 headset, and I'm having trouble using the mic with it. How do I select the headset mic instead of my laptop's pre-built mic? There isn't any option for a new device, is this because it uses an analogue audio jack? I'm extremely confused, any and all help would be appreciated, and just to clarify, the headset itself works fine, I just can't seem to use the mic.

Right click the speaker in the bottom right corner on your task bar, go to recording devices, right click the microphone and set it to default.

It only shows options for a single microphone, which is the Realtek High Definition Audio mic, built into my Laptop. Is my headset mic replacing my laptop mic under the same name, or is it not appearing at all?
