770 would be just fine if your only at 1080p, if you plan on upgrading to 1440p then the 780 is better. Otherwise the 800 series is around the corner meaning you can either get a 770 for less or an 870 for full price.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

so do you guys think that it is better just to wait till the 800 series comes out and get a 770 or 780 will there be a big price drop ?

Find out what new features the 800 series has, if its just a performance increase like it usually is then don't bother.

We're so late in the cycle now that even I  dare say that the 800 series is just around the corner. The 770 and 780 prices wont necessarily drop dramatically, but there will be a ton of people trying to get rid of their cards to get the newest and best hardware out. At this point I would most definitely wait for the 800 series and either buy a new top end card (870/880) or buy a second hand 780 which people will be selling for "next to nothing" (compared to what they're selling for right now).
