Hp are worse then alienware, its also silly that you can get a dell xps with better specs for a well lower price and the xps isnt marketed for gaming so to speak but its fairly good at it.

Honestly Hp are the worst oem company, they arent the best at anything.

Alienware is fantastic and actually uses quality OEM parts in what they're doing, HP however I don't doubt for a second they use cheap supply crap to create these machines.

HP doesn't have the awesome customer service that Alienware does either.

I had to replace the PSU in my grandma's HP with my CX430M since hers had normal coil whine and a kind of coil whine that sounded like a hard drive. Not to mention her board uses non-standard mounting for the CPU heatsink.

HP can die in fire.

HP doesn't have the awesome customer service that Alienware does either.

Ive always been on dells side because ive got a few contacts there, ive been offered to take an aurora for free before which i refused because my father would get pissed.

I know the power supplies for the modern pcs very well, the dell insprions 620, 660 and current use 80+ gold 300w psus, which are tanks, they are very good psus.

The xps series, 8100,8300,8500 and 8700(apart from special editions for each type) use 80+ silver 460w psus which are pretty nice but the fan is loud.

Some 8100s use a 350w if they have a lower end gpu gt530 etc.

then there is hp which have external psus, because they have LAPTOP COMPONENTS, jesus christ its crazy how can they be proud of such shit.

Yeah due to my old job as a pc repair guy at a shop and work experience and a small side business lead me to gain a lot of knowledge

My Dell PSU out of my Optiplex GX260 (full-size desktop I guess) was rated at 300 and I frequently pushed it to 330 and it was fine. Damn thing weighs a lot more than the 300 watt PSU out of my grandma's HP and it doesn't sound hollow.

When clicking on customizing, They gave me a free upgrade to 12GB of RAM...

There's a few things I wish I could remove, like the wireless card.
And then, I saw this

NOPE.

Yes but what if you can't overclock it, what is the point, just find a cheaper one with an i5. Or even better, build your own!

i could be unlucky but i repaired a number of x51s back when i worked at the repair shop, one area 51 came in, their products are pretty durable with the liquid cooler being the problem, they still use old technology for fittings so the chances for problems to occur grows, i didnt know how to deal with liquid cooled system back then so my boss dealt with them of which i saw a few.

The most common repair was the optiplex as those things are everywhere, most of the faults come down to lack of airflow after years of usage, i just line up like 5 of them and get a leaf blower out, works like a charm and has way better bang for buck then a compressed air can.
