So recently i've been wanting to play BF4. I bought it when it came out and it played fine on ultra settings getting about 30-40fps. I started running out of disk space a few months ago and so i deleted BF4 because i wasn't playing it much. A few months later i felt like playing it again so yesterday i redownloaded it from origin. I launched the game this morning and i'm only getting about 5fps on ultra settings. Even on low settings i'm only getting 19-30fps. What happened? Did something burn out? My frame rate is most the games i have been playing recently have been low and i have no idea why. It's like someone swapped out my card for something worse. My specs are:

PSU: 550W

GPU: AMD HD7790 1GB

RAM: 8GB

APU: A8 5600K Black edition (Quad core)

I was planning on recording a cinematic video on Dayz with a friend. I was wondering why my FPS was so bad on it. I thought it was just VERY demanding to run. Maybe not. Help please, i can't go on with these low frame rates.

ensure your AMD driver is at least 14.4

disable Mantle and run with DX11 API

BF4 is broken after the recent patch

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I also have a problem with updating my driver. Whenever i download the update and install it, my computer crashes. Windows switches to windows basic and stops using the GPU. I have to manually go to device manager and roll back the drivers. I searched for the problem when i tried updating the driver over a year ago and no one seemed to have this problem. I'm stuck on the old version

Call of duty ghosts seems to be getting the same low frame rate. I tried running it yesterday and it was unplayable on medium settings when it used to run fine on highest settings a few months ago. Also my computer has been crashing to blue screen a lot recently. Not sure why.

use this to remove the old driver

boot to safe mode with networking

go to AMD to get the newer 14.4 driver

ok update drivers, air dust your card (them small canisters or the large air compressers) and then try and clean your PSU it may be running hot

n00b. here's help:

Verify if you have a cpu bottleneck.

Here's a copy of one of ym previous posts:

Open Windows Task Manager.  (search it in start menu OR press CTRL-ALT-DELETE and open it from security screen)

Now that your the matrix god of the digital univers ein your PC (not quite)

Go to performance Tab. And look at the graph if one of your cpu cores hit 100% while playing BF4, thats a wall bottlenck (caus eI happen to call it that way B) )

If all cores hit 100%, its a full bottleneck. (then you can tell us and yourself if there's a cpu bottleneck) ( its actually more complicated then that but its ok)

Go to processes tab.

There you will find BF4.exe along with all the other crap running ony our computer.

See how much % of your cpu BF4 uses. If its 70% and your cpu is at 90% this means everything else in your computer uses 20%. so if you want more fps because your a ''tearing no-sync madman'' You can clean some of the other stuff running on your computer, like the microsoft spyware along with other crap my prebuilt PC OS had.

If you terminate something you shouldn't you can always restart it or restart your computer as it doesnt delete files.

If you use teamspeak, using a channel without voice encryption will lower cpu usage from 2-3% to 0-1%

If you use skype, then you should consider to move away because skype is stone age and TS is electrical age.

CPU: Ryzen 5500 GPU: RX 6800 RAM: DDR4 3200MHZ 48GB (2x8+2x16 GB)  MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO Display: 4k120hz with freesync premium.
