Dead/stuck pixel on an IPS?

I got an Asus pb278q and noticed a white spot in dark backgrounds.

Browsing around, I was trying to find out if it was a dead (unfixable) or a bright pixel (I can try to fix)

I'm confused because a dead pixel does not mean the same for TN as it is for an IPS (or pls) panel. One means a failure to block white light and the other is the inability to let light through, but I'm not sure which applies to my situation.

In other words, I have a bright dot when I have a dark background, is the pixel dead?

it's probably stuck, try running a pixel unsticker and see if that works

if it doesn't, try contacting ASUS or the store for an RMA

You can't RMA a monitor for one dead/stuck pixel. There usually needs to be at least 3-5 as stated in the warranty. If it is only one there is nothing you can do about it.

Pretty sure that Asus has some warranty on high-end monitors that's like:

0 bright pixels

3 dead pixels

But my memory is bad at this moment in time...
