Pentium g3258 budget overclocking

I'm building a budget pc and was wondering how you overclock the Pentium on Asus non z boards like the h81. I know it's possible because of Linus video about budget oc just for the Pentium. What are the steps?

It depends on the board... They only did it on a very particular set of boards and all you would have to do would be through a bios update. Just go to the asus website, find the correct board, and then download and flash to the newest bios

First off, make sure the bios is updated and Temps are within your comfort zone. Then slowly increase the multiplier bit by bit. FYI I think there's no way to control the voltage...

Pentium is a great CPU for budget, there are some pretty sweet deals on msi z97 mobos sometimes

another great mobo for the g3258 is the msi h81m-p33. its the one i have and was used by toms hardware to OC the pentium...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but iirc can't the B-series motherboards overclock as well? H can't but i'm pretty sure B can, right?

That pentium is so badass... they should just factory overclock it and sell it at Best Buys and all those filthy casual places. If you can market a 5GHz processor to normal zombie hordes they'll be all over it because they still live in the 1995 mindset that OMG MOAR GHz IS GOD.

Yeah i just got my pent a week ago, haven't OC'ed it yet, but it supposedly gets close to i3 performance when OC'ed
