802.11n maximum speed is 300Mbps if I recall correctly so it is very much fine. Only 802.11ac is able to reach those insanely high speeds (note: potentially) of 1000Mbps

u will not get 350Mbps if thats what u want

thats only the  theoretical maximum

u will get around 70 - 120 Mbps

never ever believe those speeds even on routers etc

u need to see a review first since it will tell u the actual speed

but its still a great card

So if i were to get a card that maxed out at 150mbps (my internet is only 20 mbps) it wouldn't make any difference?

Do you really need a networking card for a desktop? It's slower than just buying homeplugs or directly plugging into your router with an ethernet cable. Unless you'll be moving around a lot in which case your 350mbps card should be just fine.

People often confuse GigaBITs per second and GigaBYTEs per second when talking about networking.

I too use Gigabit switches for my home network to connect everything. Personally, if you can, go wired. Everything is just much better. I've yet to see a very good consumer grade wireless router, I know Linus has discussed this a few times. For instance, if I want to copy a film from my own desktop to the media server for everyone to stream around the house, it takes no time at all to copy a 2.5GB (full HD) film to it, where as on wireless it would take a good amount of time. This to me is an annoyance.

As mentioned, it's only a theoretical speed in the very best/ideal conditions.

it wouldnt

i  would only look at a high bandwidth card for sharing files in my own network
