High vs Low Density laptop ram

Wanting to get another 4gb for my laptop because its an APU based laptop & its only got single channel 4gb soldered on (Aspire V5-552)

 

Run into an issue, ive heard some laptops cant run high density ram? Whats the deal with this? I know high density would have 8 chips while low density ha 16 chips on it. Dont wanna end up buying ram just to have it not work.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I think this was more of a thing with early ddr3 and ddr2 laptops.
