Squeeze performance from my iPhone 3GS?

Okay, I have an iPhone 3GS that I got for free from a friend of mine who upgraded to a samsung galaxy note 2. And... it's 5 years old now. Running iOS 6.1.6. She ain't the newest anymore. My school apps no longer work so I can no longer check my grades, games lag like hell even after a complete factory reset, and it just in general is no longer as usable.

Anyone have any ideas on how to boost this thing's performance?

tl;dr

Help me jailbreak it pls and make it faster.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

Any idea how to jailbreak it? I've tried several times and failed miserably.

Right when it says in the redsn0w tool to wait until restart, the phone doesn't restart so i do it manually and then it fails.

Pls someone help me jailbreak my iPhone.

I would uninstall the games you have, that will make the whole system more lightweight. Also consider disabling some of the services that run in the background and you don't need.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

I did a complete factory reset to be honest.

I'd try to revert to OS 4.3.3 and jailbreak it via Jailbreakme.com  . Takes about 10 seconds to do, simply navigating to that site and pressing install on your Ipod/Iphone.

The ease of jailbreaking my Ipod kept me on that OS version for a long time. I also freed up RAM by deleting unnecessary processes/services that weren't used by the Ipod.
