How often does LG, HTC, Samsung update their software?

So I was wondering how often does Samsung and LG and HTC update their flagship phones? Like the rate after Google releases their official update, from the time that LG for example release their own software update for their own flagship?

6-9 months. its a really slow process. I think some of samsungs phones still are not on kit kat, but dont quote me on that. I personally root and hop on the newest version bandwagon

6 months. did a quick google, samsung is JUST now pushing out 4.4.4-4.4.2 updates to their newest devices. all the manufacturers have to put in their apps, and skins. so it may be longer.

Same thing. I believe they get the coding after Google releases it on their phones, so they have to wait to make sure that their skins play nicely with it.

It also has to go through the carrier approval process which can take forever, or they can not bother with it at all.

Motorola are pretty much the only other people decent with updates. But I'm not even sure if that will carry on now that they're no longer owned by Google.

LG by any chance do any faster updates compared to Samsung? Because I think the Cyanogen devs are waiting for a bootloader unlock tool from LG before they can make a version for it, and that will take awhile, incase LG is slow in updating too

honestly couldnt say. Probably could google it, but me and my family do not own LG devices.

Personally I'd wait for the next Moto phone. 3 weeks. Likely has dual front facing speakers, super tight body, bigger screen, bigger battery, more stock like OS...just an overall better device.

Moto Phones are not easy to find here, carriers don't carry them, they are like the Nexus Line, both are only available off contract at high pricing.

 

And just one more thing, open too others too, How long will it take someone to get used to a 5-5.5 inch display from a tiny 4.3 one?

Get a Samsung or I will murder you. 

And to answer your question, you receive stability updates much faster. Android updates may be a pain in the ass, but Samsung does a good job of fixing glitches or stability issues. I received (3? 5?) updates on my Note 3 and 4 updates on my Note 10.1 2014 edition. Samsung used to suck when it came to software support, but they're gradually getting their shit together; which is great news.

Hardly any time at all. I adapted almost instantly...other than the wow of the bigger screen. That stuck around for a while. It's so much better.

Honestly, even the G3 would be an easy phone to adapt to. My roommates both got matching ones yesterday, and when I hold it compared to my Nexus 5 the difference is minimal.

Anyone who complains about the bigger size has clearly never held the device for that long.

A link near the top shows a diagram of the whole process which is a generalization of all manufacturers and providers. But yea, as everyone else has stated it is a slow process that depends on the actual phone, the manufacturer and the provider.
