So i loaded up thief and put on the benchmark thing. It was running smooth other than one stutter down to .8 fps and then randomly stopped completely couldnt do anything even the off button didnt work. I had to turn the psu off on the back. I turned it back on and everything is fine but i wont to now how this could happen

What kind of temps are you getting?

I wasnt tracking them at that point but yesterday playing planetside i was hitting 70 max on the cpu

Sure, you can try prime95 with in-place large FFTs. Make sure they're core temps though.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

@failblox Ran it again no freeze. GPU hit 67 and hottest cpu core hit 62 weird

Maybe your OC is unstable?
