I was planning on building a mainly gaming PC for under or around $1500. This would be my first build and i honestly feel i'm not great at picking parts.I do plan on overclocking.

If there are any tweaks you would make to my build ( http://goo.gl/DDQGnd )  or if you have a build that you think is better please leave your thoughts below, I would greatly appreciate it!

Very good build. I'm running the same GPU and planning on going SLI once the newer GPUs come out... If I would say any tweaks. If you could, try going for an 850W psu so you can get dual Cards in the future etc. Other than that, that will be pretty Great for anything you throw at it at 1080p :P I have a corsair closed loop on my i7 4770k, those things are great for overclocking ;p

That does seem like a better build, but are there any performance issues with there only being one PCIe x 16 slot and running crossfire?

No, on card running at 8x and one running at 16x would work fine.

@MellowCream Is this otherwise a decent build besides the Case (which i too think looks really ugly) and PSU?

I would get a less expensive ssd. Same for the hdd - a Seagate Barracuda is more than sufficient for the desktop.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Case is only in there for the $$$, if you want something prettier you'd have to sacrifice something else. PSU is great value for money, but if you want that hektik goldz sticker then you can go for that, just need to sacrifice something else again.

The PSU and Cases are crap. WD green drives are also slow.

In what world is any HDD fast? I put the Green in there because it's economical and quiet, and is perfectly fine for storage of files. Unless OP is looking at using it as a scratch disk or high-bandwidth video dump location, I wouldn't be stressing about it.

Also, my past experiences with WD have been nothing but brilliant, which is more than I can say for other brands.
