Is your card recognized in the bios?

What is your mobo, maybe motherboard bios update will help

It won't boot into bios.

It's an msi p67a-gd55, I updated the bios. but for some reason it won't let me update the chipset to the latest version, going to have to manually dos install it.

Do you guys think the chipset could have something to do with it? Or is it more of a bios issue?

It's more than likely a new product issue. This happens on nearly every hardware launch I've ever been crazy enough to jump on right at the start.

You should try and test the card in another PC to make sure it's not brown bread.

Area 51 2014. Intel 5820k@ 4.4ghz. MSI X99.16gb Quad channel ram. AMD Fury X.Asus RAIDR.OCZ ARC 480gb SSD. Velociraptor 600gb. 2tb WD.

Maybe try flashing BIOS one more time? Run driver sweeper? Odd issue friend :/ best of luck, hope it starts working!

Hey guys, I just upgraded to a z77 board and it works flawlessly. Maybe it was the p67 board giving it issues. Worked on the STOCK bios and chipset drivers on the big bang mpower board.

check your motherboard manufacturers site and see if they have a bios update that fixes gfx card compatibility issues. if yours is older and may benefit then update your bios with the old card in then try the new 1s the bios update takes.

but honestly if your getting b2 it often means the card is doa. you could of course try the new card in a different build and see if it works on that. but its likely it will beep 3 times or b2 code as well.

you can try unplugging everything like gfx and hdds then try booting and see if it stops on the same code. iff it doesnt then add another device and try again.

you may also want to check that the dvd isnt plugged into the wrong sata if you have 1. it may fail detection if its sata 2 on the primary sata 3 port.

the primary sata port should be for your boot hdd.

I had the latest from msi. My 660ti works without a problem in the p67 board, just for some reason it didn't like the 780. I put it into a z77 big bang mpower with a new 3570k and the 780 worked right off the bat with the stock (and now up to date) bios and chipset drivers.

thanks a lot for the very detailed troubleshooting guide though!
