Just need you guys to tell me if it is good to go because I'll be ordering it as soon as the 800 series drops so the price will be a few dollars cheaper. Only thing now that I am thinking on changing the PSU because I'm going to eventually get another 780Ti or can this handle two?
(When I end up SLIing I will chuck on some sexy Noctuas and I'll also be painting the entire thing black with a secondary colour of green/red/blue. What do you guys think! :) Been planning this for so long...

@Dazza_the_Dragon I feel that you've kinda overspent a little bit on the motherboard & haven't adequately budgeted enough for your cpu heatsink/cooler. I'd also try to get some case fans for a bit better cooling. Not quite sure of the amount of fans supplied by phantek's enthoo pro case. The power supply you have listed is capable of running two gpu's up to 780 ti in sli or probably even R9 290X's cfx.

Maybe a crossfire 290 Tri-X, i5. and G1 Sinper?

Nah sticking with NVIDIA, just think that they are a little more reliable and with the price drop when the 800 series comes out it will be cheaper. I also want to use all of the exclusive NVIDIA features as well :) That including the overclocking I'm planning on doing is making me stick with the Hero and i7 because it gives slightly better performance and I am going to be doing editing/rendering later on so not worth changing chips later on when I can do it now.

Don't misunderstand me but R9 290 is a great performer but that cooler is huge :(. I like the i5 whether it's the 4670/90K + the Z87 G1 sniper.

The Hero is going to be a good choice I believe for  SLI and as I said I'm going to get some Noctuas if the system isn't coping well.. what heatsink do you suggest then?

Oops I forgot to post I got sidetracked because the newest episode of Naruto came out my bad. I'd recommend something like the NH-U12/14s from Noctua. The Hyper 212 evo isn't the worst however you could find a better performing cpu cooler over $50 dollars.

I love Noctua but god their fans are ugly.. but I definitely think I'll go with what you said and just paint it.. could you suggest what noctua case fans are good for my build?

I love Noctua but god their fans are ugly.. Would this cooler be compatible with my motherboard?

I believe Logan from Tek syndicate summarized it very well in his review of the cooler, Linus also provided a review of the cooler.

Just for reference I believe the nh-d15 (this is somewhat related) needs a wide surface area on the cpu socket & motherboard. It takes up 1 pci-e slot. I cannot explain it too well but there are some big issues with using some noctua coolers. Personally I like their brown & newer black fans.

Honestly there are a lot of different fans whether they're sp/af focused you could use. If you're going for strictly noctua then either the original nf-f12 isn't bad as an af case fans however it performs significantly better against a restricted surface area.

still i don't know how people manage to get a 3K build and still have no room for CF or sli ?

ok since you clearly want nvidia here is what i have

asus is not needed and they are not the best it may be a brand that you like more but they have all the same purpose.

i found decent ram with cas 9

gold psu is still great since all above is paying 100$ for 1 % better efficient.

and if you go dual gpu atleast get a decent monitor not 1080 atleast 1200p the 120 pixels do a lot if you have it you don't want smaller. the budget was a little low for a 1440p or 1600p.

Might do what you did but cut out one of the 780s out, chuck in a keyboard and put in an i7 4790k and some other modifications and SLI another Twin Frozr later like this.

Also there seems to be a problem where the RAM exceeds the chips recommended 1.5 %5 voltage. Is this a problem?
