get a PowerColor PCS+ R9 290 instead. Its cheaper and Asus has some issues with their cards.

Also, you should get an Enthoo Pro for your case. Its amazing

FANBOY OF: PowerColor, be quiet!, Transcend, G.Skill, Phanteks

FORMERLY FANBOY OF: A-Data, Corsair, Nvidia

DEVELOPING FANBOY OF: AMD (GPUS), Intel (CPUs), ASRock

everything is good except that brand of GPU

the cooler design is an epic fail for their AMD cards

look at the Sapphire Tri-X

1. You do not need an I7-4790k for gaming unless you do not plan to upgrade the CPU for a very long time (Games will use hyperthreading in the (near) future)

2. If you do not plan to CF/SLI I would get the CS550M from corsair instead. If you do however plan to CF/SLI I would get the EVGA G2 750/850W (750 for SLI, 850 for CF).

3. IT might be very much worth it to take a crucial 250GB SSD instead. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-internal-hard-drive-ct256mx100ssd1 It's only $20 more

4. Don't get ASUS R9 290. Asus cooler is optimized for the current Nvidia cards making the cooler a bit meh. The r9 r90 Tri-x from Sapphire is the superior choice by far.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Kept everything pretty much the same but I improved on the motherboard, RAM (imo), GPU, case and PSU. I did downgrade the CPU to an i5 but an i7 yields almost no gaming performance increase. I also edited in an SSD, which is quite a well known one at the 250GB capacity. So plenty enough fast storage for a multitude of games and programs even with your OS.

The I7 will yield some performance increase if he keeps it for quite a while. Games will utilize hyperthreading in the (near) future making the i7 worth it if he keeps it for a long time.

-snip-

you build looks balanced

but the MSI Lightning is a very overpriced 290X and only good if you are going for liquid cooling route

the 290X Gaming series or the Sapphire 290X Vapor-X IMO are better

bump up to a MSI Z97 Gaming and the build will be perfect

True, but I don't suspect the games coming out next year having too much of a multi-threaded utilisation. And plus, I was able to get a better GPU which will make a bigger difference.

The motherboard is already a Gaming Z97, unless you mean the GAMING 5. Also I knocked the GPU down to the Vapor-X, and with that I added a 250GB 840 EVO for some SD luxury :D

motherboard will be a :asus z97-a or MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ( note asus z97-a is cheaper and rated 10/10) or better

gpu most be sapphire tri-x cooler

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz

psu : I don't knowwww i'm confused  ( t<so many choice between rosewill, corsair, seasonic etc.) max 130$

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

NZXT CA-S220W-B1

SilenX EFX-12-15B

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB

Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1

Now when u mentioned some 3d/video rendering applications the i7 is the way to go and r9-290 will max out every game at 1080p.

R9-290x is better if u go for 1440p-2k or u have high refresh rate monitor so u benefit from playing at 100 fps at 1080p, i5 will be slightly slower when rendering in AE and C4D, same performance in gaming for a while.

Connection200mbps / 12mbps 5Ghz wifi

My baby: CPU - i7-4790, MB - Z97-A, RAM - Corsair Veng. LP 16gb, GPU - MSI GTX 1060, PSU - CXM 600, Storage - Evo 840 120gb, MX100 256gb, WD Blue 1TB, Cooler - Hyper Evo 212, Case - Corsair Carbide 200R, Monitor - Benq  XL2430T 144Hz, Mouse - FinalMouse, Keyboard -K70 RGB, OS - Win 10, Audio - DT990 Pro, Phone - iPhone SE
