6 Core cpu worth it?

If you're not in a hurry you can always wait for Broadwell and see if it's worth it then. Right now though, a 4790k will be enough.

4790k will be more than enough. If you want, you can consider the 4930k, but the architecture is a bit old and will be worth it to wait for x99
