What is the most powerful SLI capable Nvidia graphics card with a plastic housing (cooler, like the 780 Ti) older than 2007?

8800GTX ? Was released mid 2006 and could do sli, I think

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)

2006-spec SLI rig.

Why not just buy a newer graphics card that is cheaper, performs better, and can actually be bought new?

8800gtx back when cuda just came out either that or the 9800gx2 .....those were the days  :D
