i get this is cheap and all but why does it exist? it advertises itself as some kind of god-tier gpu! Why are they allowed to do this? It would be okay but people are actually buying it with the expectations that its gonna deliver performance like a 290x or something seriously!

Because marketing...

(And believe it or not, there is a market for these cards... Mostly people who need to run off a dedicated graphics card instead of a crappier onboard solution...)

Erm, where does it advertise itself as a "god tier" GPU? Do you mean this line: "The ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 graphics processors offer the most features and functionality in their class with complete DirectX 11 support and the world’s most advanced graphics, display features and technologies."? Because that just says that it offers those features in its class(!) and most advanced graphics and display options (i.e. high resolution support). If this was advertised as a gaming GPU of some kind then I would agree (and many OEMs are definitely at fault here, selling a PC with an i7 4770k and a GT720 for example) but nowhere does it say that, at all.

Same with the PC repair business here... (who the fuck would agree replacing a GT640 with a GF210 for the price of a GT630?)

Its not about providing better graphics, for example at work I have 2 monitors but the tower does not have 2 vga ports so it has a gt 610 inside

Also some old pcs have 0 - rubbish integrated graphics

maybe i exagerrated a little, but you have to agree the advertising is a quite far fetched for what it actually does

Yeah I hate this... I was looking at a general electronics retail website here in Aus earlier today and they were selling $3100 gaming PCs so I decided to look at the specs. 4770k, 16GB of RAM and... a 750 Ti... *facepalm*
