Going to be buying a new processor next and seeing as I already have an AMD+ motherboard I was wondering, obviously the 8350 is better but how much better, £40 better? Thanks

The only main difference is the stock speeds. With a FX-8350 you can overclock in higher speeds more easily.(less voltage)

It depends on your usage for the cpu. The difference between the two isn't that big.

Oh yeah, it's AM3+.

What's the rest of your build?

If you plan on overclocking get the 8320, if not get the 8350. I have heard rumors taht the 8320 is a worse overclocker than the 8350, but that has not been my experience.

They're the exact same processor, the FX 8350 comes with a higher default clock speed & responds to voltage slightly better when overclocking.
I would always just recommend grabbing an FX 8320 & spend more on the cooler, because ultimately it's the heat that limits your overclock.

Hi.

8320 - 3.5ghz base clock. 4 core boost = 4ghz, 8 core boost = 3.8ghz (something they don't tell you I thought mine was broken)

8350 4ghz base clock 4.2ghz full 8 core turbo.

8350 will be slightly better quality obviously, as my 8320 couldn't do 4ghz on multi. However, the 8320 is quite a chunk cheaper and definitely more of a challenge if you know what you're doing when it comes to overclocking.

Yeah I totally agree. My CPU throttles at 68c (only happens in Prime and LinX) and clocks down to let itself cool. I'm running a H60 with two fans too, so I would definitely suggest either a H80 or H100 tbh.

8120, 8320 and 8350 are the same cpu when they're made at the factory. They arrange them in A+, A and B quality bins corresponding to their dielectric and thermal properties.

Basically, an 8320 is a lower class 8350.

When it comes to CPUs I never buy anything but the top chip, as within the top chip's bin will be a whole new scale of quality, some people might get something that AMD could have marketed as an 8390 but there's so few of them that it wouldn't be possible to meet demand. So essentially, if you want to take part in the silicon lottery, buy the top chip. What's nice about AMD is that you can't get a chip worse or equal to the 8320 if you buy an 8350, but you can get sooo much better than the average 8350.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Thanks! I was thinking of buying a new motherboard and a 3570k but then I thought that the next gen consoles all have 8 core processors and will take more advantage of the more cores, then an FX-8350 would be a better choice when it comes to the games being ported

the 8350 is the clear choice, the 8320 is the same chip, just one that performs less. so if you are overclocking the 8350 will overclock better, and be more stable. I have the 8150 currently but my buddy's system which i built has the 8350, hes very pleased with it. I will be upgrading to the next release because i can wait ;)
