Hello,

So i had the chance to choose a gaming laptop for additional work too.

I'm looking for a good price and performance ratio laptop witch the only requirement being it should run CSGO/TeamFortress 2 well at good high fps..

Ok so i was looking at the Asus ROG G750JM-DS71/JS-DS71/JZ-XS72

Also was looking at the Lenovo Y50 and the MSI GS60 Ghost and Ghost pro and the GS70

Witch one of these should run these games well also should be able to do some work and have nice battery life witch is not so important and a good performance per dollar ratio

Okay, quit it with the font. I have been trying to ignore you all day and I can't take looking at it anymore. It's just difficult to read

If you want your posts to stand out, don't use stupid fonts. Instead, try to make high quality posts.

Considering I've only been posting today for the last 3 hours I'd say you haven't been trying to ignore me all day.

And I would follow that up with, quit the self rightious attitude buddy, if a little font is more than you can handle you're over exposing yourself to people.

So far I've been a member of two forums and this was the only one where I was ever accosted about my font, and on number 1 we  had a girl who always posted without fail in green text she was never accosted to my knowledge either, so out of the two (this one being the one that makes a point of going out of your way to ensure a freindly user environ right in the CoC) this is the one that I've been harassed the most (at all)on, and the most exasperated response I've given in return was insistence that people stop spamming threads with unrelated demands, completely repurposing the thread into a font-bash gang bang.

So you'll have to excuse my lack of sympathy for your Pain.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

Sorry about that, anyway I'll trust TheSLSAMG nows what he/she is talking about and that FranBunny knows her stuff.

Otherwise I've heard a lot of good things about Asus Laptops.

And Linus certainly praised the Y50 quite a bit.

What's your budget? Preference for screen size? Whether you want the Asus G750JM, Lenovo Y50, or MSI GS60/70, it'll depend a lot on what you're looking for.

The Asus G750JM will run the coolest and quietest out of them, but it's a 17.3" laptop that will probably weigh between 8 and 10 pounds. It's an excellent laptop, but if you have to carry it around every day with school textbooks, it can be rough. There’s no mSATA with the G750 series, but you get two drive bays.Storage and RAM upgrading is very simple on the G750 series, but if you want to access the fans with compressed air or do some repasting of the CPU/GPU it'll require some serious disassembly of the laptop.

For the Y50, there are quite a few models of it, including a 4K IPS model. But as Linus pointed out, that version has some serious issues, so you might want to consider the 1080p version instead. It's a 15.6" laptop that's under 1" in thickness so it's pretty portable. It also comes with a SSHD, but compared to the other models, it's pretty limited in storage upgradeability (you can replace the optical drive with another storage drive, but other than that you're stuck with the one drive bay). The Y50 is one of the better gaming laptops out there for price/performance, but from what I've heard the build quality is a bit less.

The MSI GS60/70 (15.6"/17.3") is the lightest and thinnest of the laptops you’ve listed. However, with that increased portability, the components will run hotter, and the surface temperatures will likely be noticeably warmer as well. Upgrade-wise, it’s decent. I only has the one drive bay, but it has space for 2 mSATA SSD’s in the GS60 and 3 in the GS70. They also both use an IPS panel which will have better colors and viewing angles. However, the GS60/GS70 is significantly more expensive. Granted, a lot more R&D work probably went into the laptop to get everything to function in a small space, but for the price you pay on a GS60/70 with a GTX 860M, you could likely afford a laptop from a brand like Clevo/Sager with a GTX 870M.

So, to summarize(and over-generalize?)…

If you don’t care about size/weight, but want the best cooling system - get the Asus G750JM.

If you don’t care about having large amounts of storage on your laptop, but want something with good ‘bang for your buck’ – get the Lenovo Y50.

If you’re willing to pay a few hundred dollars extra for the thinnest/lightest laptop(aside from the Razer Blade) – get the MSI GS60/70 (depending on your screen size preference).

Again, your budget will play a large role in this. I can probably think of a couple Sager laptops that might be a good fit for you as well, but that depends on what you’re looking for.

Stop replying to the special cookie attention whore, guys. Drop them into your ignore list and the problem goes away.

Kay as for the OP.

First
PRICE

How much are you willing to pay?

Second

Do you care about customer service, quality of life/luxury, overclocking/modability or do you just want to buy the hardware and leave it at stock?

Third

Size, how big of a laptop are you willing to carry around?

Forth
Do you have any special preferences or requirements? EG IPS Panel screen?
