If not, what do you reccomend that's 100 CAD or less.

Modular/eco or silent mode preferred.

Considering we have no idea what you'll be using this power supply with, I'm not sure how you expect us to give a recommendation

I definitely recommend it, I have the RM750 in my rig and I absolutely love it it's great and the flat cables make cable management a breeze. Depending on the other components of your rig of course.

Like Vacsol said, we do need to know what you are going to be using it for.

But I like my RM650, very quiet, and you can get sleeved cables from Corsair later. I personally have the white ones. They look quite nice.

80+ Gold is nice and the PSU is of quality.

5800X3D - RTX 4070 - 2K @ 165Hz

I plan on getting a gtx 870 when they come out, or something like that. Right now my computer has a really crap 400w psu without any 80 plus cert and it runs fine. 400+ watts should be fine, maybe 500+ to be safe

I'm planning to get a GTX 870 also when it comes out.

The RM 550 will be just fine, but I don't know if it can hold out that much if you want to overclock.

But it still depends though. What's your full system specs?

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670k Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 3 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB 1866 Video Card: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G SSDSamsung 840 Evo 250GB HDD: WD 1TB + 500GB Caviar Blue
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2 Case: Gigabyte GZ-G1 Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB Keyboard: Corsair K70 MX Brown MousePad: Corsair MM200
Steam/Origin/Uplay: renz62

Where are you finding an RM550 for less than 100CAD? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#e=6,5,4&p=1,2&W=430,600&sort=a8

I would recommend the Seasonic G 550W, Cooler Master V550S, and Rosewill Capstone-550-M. All cheaper than the RM550 on this list. None have a semi-fanless mode however, and all are semi-modular.

I usually don't recommend the RM Series due to the price and poor quality capacitors (@connorpiper), but of all the RM Series units, the 550W and maybe 450W units make the most sense. There aren't many fully-modular units with fanless modes around that Wattage. 750W+, the RM gets destroyed by numerous competitors.

Like some people have suggested, you can get a better PSU for the same or less money. Seasonic G, XFX XTR, CM V, Capstone.

Suggestions?
