Hello all!

My gf has a macbook pro and while it's solid (3629mq gtx 650m) it overheats gaming and she has quite a bit of steam games. So we were talking and she wants me to build her a mini it build. I live in the US and only buy from Newegg. Amazon charges taxes and with Newegg I get free shipping. My only demand is Intel based as she will be playing WoW in the next expansion and AMDs single threaded capabilities are nonexistent. I'm posting from a phone but my ideas was a 4690k on an Asus h97itx board since you can overclock on asus on any platform and an r9-270x mini inside of an elite 110. But I can't fit a 250gb ssd while keeping the roughly 800 dollar budget. Any suggestions?

Just over 800$, I tried to have all Newegg prices.

I added only 1 memory 8GB stick so that you can put another 8GB, in the future, for a total of 16GB.

The GTX 750 Ti is going to be more than enough for light gaming.

The Core i5 4440 is a great CPU, even though it can't be overclocked, it won't bottleneck the 750 Ti at all.

I've managed to add a 240GB SSD from Intel, and a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue. I believe that Newegg doesn't have that particular HDD anymore, so something like Seagate Barracuda 1TB should be quite similar.

The 250D case from Corsair is compact, has good cooling and it looks really good.

I didn't add an OS and peripherals to the price, so if you don't have those, the total price might go up quite a bit.

I hope I've helped you :)

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($182.79 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($99.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($129.97 @ Amazon)

This is what I came up with in a couple minutes, you could use one of the other two "itx" 760's instead of that orange one but it was the cheapest. Also I wasn't aware you could overclock the multiplier on H97 but you could change the build slightly to fit those changes in.

Edit: Newegg is $40 more expensive

I bought 2 items from NCIX, over $100.00 should be free shipping.  I am looking to cheapen it up a bit, and one way would be to buy memory which could save me a few dollars and maybe if I can find a small enough used GPU that could work too, but I'll have to work with sizing.

EDIT:  I will probably do this instead (getting a used 7950/280)
