DIY Desk PC or Case PC

AdsStan

So i was wanting a new desk than i wanted to build my own desk as a fun project, i then saw on YouTube a vlog / tutorial on how to build a desk pc then i wanted to do that but i don't want to spend too much. So do i do the PC inside a Desk thing or do i just build a new desk and buy a BitFenix Neos Case?

PC inside of a desk makes it insanely hard to move and work around with unless you're very clever.

If you do a custom case at least you can take it places like a lan party.

yes but the mobo trey will be removable like on caselabs cases and the whole worktop of the desk will be removable too

I vote new desk and a PC case

Not a fan of desk PCs, plus to make something cool it will cost a lot, and there is no sense sacrificing performance just to make a cool looking desk

Build the PC and get a reasonable desk first, then once your PC is where you want it to be, work on a desk to build it into

I reckon go for a pc case and a new desk. If you've never done a big construction project then I suggest you wait until you have more wood and metalwork experience before trying it.

I personally think that just getting a new desk and a case is easier because if i did the PC in a desk thing i will probably have to put a water loop in there and i dont have the cash to do a water loop

No real point wasting money on a case now just to replace it later (which is a ton of effort). I would either just get the case you want or keep the case you settle for

The Neos is a great case anyway :) most builds will live in it fine for years to come
