What can I use to make a gif shorter than 1 second?

Askew

I want to use part of a youtube video to make a gif, but the websites that do it all seem to only go down to 1 second, I need it to be ever so slightly less than that in order to loop perfectly.

I only know the hard, PITA way. Download the video and import it to Adobe Premiere Pro, select the part of it you want and export it as a gif.

@Askew This is the software I used to make my avatar. As long as you are able to extract the frames that you need as separate images then this should do the job just fine. Make sure you decline all the crap it wants to install during instalation. http://www.benetonsoftware.com/Beneton_Movie_GIF.php

This should work. But 1 sec is fast http://ezgif.com/effects

Bye LTT. That was an interesting journey on this board. At least here you see how not to do it. I'll go shaking my head about this place.

No. You'll have to use either Photoshop or Gimp to turn it into a gif.

This slideshow will show you how to do it. You need Gimp v2.6 though.

@TopWargamer

I do not have a 'video' button as described in the slideshow, halp.

-snip-

You NEED Gimp v2.6. Nothing earlier, nothing later.

I'm assuming you downloaded the latest version. You can download v2.6 from here: http://www.oldapps.com/gimp.php?old_gimp=35

Download the gif addon from here: https://app.box.com/shared/jlb9ufg98x

You may want to restart the slideshow...

sorry I am a hasty moron I assumed that latest would be cool, I've never encountered this type of specific version requirement before.

I have now removed my version, and installed the correct version of Gimp.

now this has occured, I've tried various compatibility modes, no joy.

Uh...I've never encountered that before...

I honestly dunno what to do...

Maybe try uninstalling Gimp and GAP again, and make sure that their folders are empty, then try again? It's worth a shot, but I honestly dunno...

OK I will fiddle around and see what I can do (thats what she said) and failing that I will get a photoshop trial or something.

ALL THIS FOR <1SEC OF GIF, but it's a contender for a new avatar, and I've had this one for as long as I can remember.

Thx for your help anyway, much appreciated. :)
