The budget is around €400.

Was thinking of a quad core AMD APU. Something like the A8-6600K (€77). Is it overkill going for the quad core or would I be better with the dual core A6-6400K (€48)? I am just thinking that the quad core will last the test of time much longer than a dual core. I know a quad is a bit overkill for mostly internet browsing but I want this PC to be nice to use at the same time though. It isn't a lot extra and should help in those rare instances of heavier workloads.

Also, what is the stock cooler on the A6 like? Taking into account that it won't be used for games (heavy workloads in general), would you reckon I should put the €40 for a decent air cooler towards an SSD.

Also is 4GB of ram enough (2x2GB G-Skill RipJaws PC3-12800U CL9) in an APU system?

(Sorry I am lazy. I just print screened the build)

Why are you going for an NH-L9a in a 200R? Lol get the 212 EVO?

Also if he wants to use the PC for other applications the dual core G3258 will be lackluster.

The G3258 is only better then the A8/750K if you're doing extreme OC's, because the Intel side has better boards for doing so. However with moderate overclocks and general purpose use, the quad core AMD will still be better. A G3258 + 750 Ti will be better GPU wise but even then you could get a 750K instead of a G3258. That CPU is too overrated nowadays.

Unfortunately the 212 Evo is not in stock and there isn't a lot of choice. I trust Noctua to be cool and quiet and that is the cheapest one.

Well for the money and OC potential the G3258 is valid choice for budget gaming if you are willing to OC, but i digress the 750K is also good choice along with decent GPU,

Yeah but you're putting it in a 200R, and the only thing that the Noctua has going for it is that it's low profile. It might be a bit quieter then the AMD cooler but I doubt it'd run any cooler. Just because it's Noctua doesn't mean there's better, cheaper options.

However the G3258 has to be paired with a relatively expensive B85 or Z97 motherboard for that "potential" to be unleashed, with a mid range motherboard the 750K/6600K have just as much OC potential.

You might want to look what a G3258 pentium and a 750Ti build will cost in your country.

The only available Intel is the Intel Pentium G2130 and the performance on the two CPUs are pretty similar. The Intel has better single core and the AMD has better multithreaded performance. I see the quad core lasting a little longer in terms of future proof-ness. If I did go the Intel route I couldn't afford the 750ti either. It would be integrated graphics for me.
