First Build! Help Appreciated!

Go to solution Solved by GzeroD,

I still recommend a 240GB evo for the reasons I stated Earlier, That said you have a beast of a machine there.

Hi everyone, this is my first time on a forum like this and I am kind of curious as to whether I am making the right choices for my build. My Budget for this build is $1,800- 2,500 (U.S.). I am currently way overdue for an upgrade on both my computer and monitor! I made a list of what I have pieced together for my potential build here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wvhMMp   I am completely open to changes that can help me save money or changes that stop me from ruining my build .  I just need a computer that can do well (Gaming & Mild Video Editing) without needing an upgrade for a while ( at least 2 yrs. ).

Okay this is what we are at now! Anything else we should do?
Edit:
Also I have been reading around that the R9 290's run a bit hot, should I be worried or switch them out with another 290?

Well the original idea was to keep the psu for the 2 card sli and future upgrades off of that Motherboard. And to be honest, I figured the sound card would be useful in making the most of my surround sound. But once again, First build newbie here =/

Make sure you overclock everything, including the monitor, to get maximum performance.

if you want sure a single 290 is quiet a bit more powerful than a 770

And they crossfire better than 770's SLI :D

What is the reason for the ssd switch to Samsung?  And for the cooler, would the H100i be equal to it?

840 EVO's are very very well performing for their price and they have proven to be very reliable.

for the cooler I would use http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rln28l20pkr1 but it is overkill

If this is just  gaming pc, then you could drop the Ram down to 8GB and the cpu down to an i5.

a 780 TI? at that point you can spend a little more and get 2 290s. one can make a good argument for the 780 but the 780TI is a hard sell if your looking at value.

Samsung SSDs are more reliable. The X41's perfomance is very similar with the H100i. look at linus' review about it.

EDIT: The H105 is better than the h100i but the X41 gives you more compatibility with your case
