Best CPU for DayZ?

My question is this at the moment i have an Intel i3 540 @3.07GHz and an EVGA GTX 750 1Gb, i really would like to play DayZ at a comfortable 35 to 40 FPS, would i need to upgrade my CPU or will the i3 do just fine and all i really need to do is adjust the Graphical settings. Thanks!!

I'm sorry, but I don't think that the CPU upgrade is going to let you play at 35-40 FPS.

I have a 4670K, overclocked, and a R9 290. Even on my computer, I have to turn the settings way down, to get about 30FPS max.

Right now, the game has terrible optimizations, so we'll have to wait until the final game releases (because right now, you can get it on Steam in Early Access), because the game runs so bad right now.

I've seen some people say that an i3 can handle it on the steam forums but it's hard to say. DayZ has terrible optimisation and even the beefiest rigs can struggle.

It's..... Just dayz. I have to play on medium settings and still get 25-35 fps in towns..

DayZ and ARMA 2/3 are terribly optimized. If you want the best CPU for DayZ then choose the best CPU money can buy.
