Gtx 780--when overclocked, it's the same as a titan.

As for 7970, it's crossfire*

Edit: What's the rest of the build?

I'd shoot for the 780 personally.

Driver fix is coming,

id take the 7970s better performance  at stock and overclocked + free games there are CF issues now but those are being fixed

Also, 7950>7970 when it comes to bang for buck. They perform pretty closely when overclocked.

590's are nice (that price is ok) but if you can dish out the money then get the 780

i7-3770k, Gigabyte UD5H, NZXT Switch 810, OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD, WD Caviar Blue 1TB, 560 ti Twin Frozr II OC 2GB, Cooler Master V8, Corsair Vengeance 8GB, OCZ Modxstream 700w, Corsair k60 and M65. OH and RED LED LIGHTS   FUCK YA    :)

Cards like the HIS IceQ X2 7950 can be overclocked to beat the 7970 reference stock card which is pretty sweet.

ok so to narrow down your choices forget the 590 that is pretty old. now between the 7970 crossfire and the 780 hmmm if u go with the 780 you would have little issues. however performance would be less than a 7970 cf setup. now with that said amd crossfire does suffer from stuttering (yes that is what i shall call it). however it is promised that this issue would be addressed later this year.

so to give a better response i need to know a few things about your friend.

would he/she mind updating drivers doing a little digging and setting up profiles and so on?

what resolution does your friend plan to game at?

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))
