The FX 9590 is not that amazing of a CPU, if you want to get something that is as powerful as what surrounds it, an i7 4790K/i7 4930K would be better suited for the build.

Why two R9 295X2s? You have three 4K monitors there. You should wait until GPUs get better suited to 4K, possibly with Nvidia's Maxwell cards and AMD's R9 3xx cards (most likely coming in the next year and a half.

Though, for all I know, you are trolling me.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

What are you going to do, run a server and play games at 4k? This is crazy for a build, i rather spend 1/4 of money in this build to build something else.

I know I have 4k monitors there, I'm not going to be three screen gaming on them I know that Graphics cards are not up to par. And also could you tell me what advantages a intel processor has over the 9590?

You have to understand that every single build that has been posted that will cost over 5k has been a troll.

Also if you dont even know the differences between a 9590 and high tier Intel CPUs then you really need a lot of help and should rethink your choices and budget.

- Snip -

1. Get an i7 4790K or similar instead, it is much more powerful for around $60 more.

2. Get a Z97 Motherboard.

3. Get 1600Mhz ram instead, it is much cheaper and you will not notice a difference in real time.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I am legitimently here for opinions, I just want to know what people think as I have some of these parts, I want to know what I could have done better and the monitors have been provided by my employer

Alright.

  • Intel CPUs generally have lower power output.
  • They create less heat.
  • The 4790K performs better at stock speeds than an FX 9590 for most every application.
  • Intel CPUs have better single core performance, good for games and workloads that are heavily single threaded.
  • There is more choice concerning motherboards, evidenced by the motherboard lineups for Z97, X79 and 990FX + SB950.

Okay that does make sense but does say, the raw power of the CPU differ?

For the most part, yes.

The 9590 trades blows with the i7, but the i7 normally pulls ahead.

They're not as powerful as Intel CPU's and run hotter. If you spend over $1000 on a build you should be getting Intel, never the less $9000.

AMD is generally considered for budget builds yours is far from budget. The 4790k smashes the 9590 in performance power consumption and heat.
