is the gtx780 enough to run the 34" Ultrawide monitor?

jedylan

I am building this PC: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/jedylan/saved/ytfmP6

and I want to be sure I will be able to run games like battlefield and assassin's creed at Ultra settings, on the 34" Ultrawide 1440p monitor.

I might add a second 780 in few moths but I won't if it is not needed.

Should I step up to 780Ti?

Don't step up to a 780ti, wait and add another 780.

It will run them, just don't expect to lock 60fps all the time in every game with just the one 780, when you add another the experience will be complete.

Even a 780ti might struggle at that resolution...

I would think a 780 could pull high settings with a little AA off at that res but don't expect ultra 60fps constant.

I'd go for a 290 or 290x for the extra vram.

Dual 780 would perform really well though.

If you can afford a 780ti, then you can also afford two R9 290s in crossfire, which is what you should get.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Gotcha, well I absolutely love my 780. It performs really well in games, although I am just on 1080p. I would go one 780 and if you aren't happy throw another one in.

Get a 6GB 780, and that will help a little bit. You'd really need a second to get smooth framerates though

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
