Deleted windows install.

Go to solution Solved by dalekphalm,

So I have an acer e1 laptop and I attempted to dual boot windows 8 and ubuntu. However I made a mistake and ubuntu got installed over windows. Is there anyway to get windows back without buying a new license?

Did you create a set of Recovery Discs using the Acer Software? It should have prompted you as soon as you got the computer home and did the initial setup. According to my quick Google Search, Acer E1 series laptop's don't have a COA on the case - but rather use the embedded Product Key in the BIOS, which looks like can only be accessed by the Acer OS image.

Also, not to be harsh, but I hope you learned a lesson that anytime you do stuff like dual booting or upgrading an OS, you should always perform a backup - preferably a full HDD image based backup.
