temp folder location

So In advanced system settings, I have changed the Temp as well as TMP location to another drive, but i didnt change anything else, but for no reason nothing is stored there, so windows doesnt use the new location, how can I fix this?

I dont think Windows will like that very much. Plus most if not all programs are programmed to use the variable %temp% = system disk/Temp.

There is really no need to move that folder. It doesn't take up much space and most of it gets deleted on reboot.

Maybe nothing is stored there because there are no files which need to go to temp currently? I would reset your computer after you have done this change to make sure it changes.

not really. I have had my 830's in RAID0 for a year or two and they have like 4% wear on them. I have always used them for windows.

It won't destroy your SSD, the files are tiny.

4%..impossible, windows does some many rewrite cycles on its cells

SSD's can do billions of writes... trust us it wont destroy it any time soon. Most of temp is written once and read many times.

I moved my temp folder to my hard drive and these are my settings. Maybe make sure that the word temp is fully capitalized?

I restarted the pc several times and now I found data in the folder, so it looks like it works now
