Problem with Front usb 3.0 on Asus motherboard

Hi, I installed a new motherboard recently and it cannot detect a 3.0 usb in the usb 3.0 port, but there is no problem with a usb 2.0 in the 3.0 port.

I have already been to the bios to look around if anything has stood out but I could not find any.

Any solutions?

Did you install the driver for usb 3.0? Or look in the bios if usb 3.0 is enabled. It should be by default.

Is there a driver for the front usb3.0? I was thinking that because usb2.0 works that the 'driver' was already installed.  Or is that not usually the case ?

I did make sure that all my usb ports are enabled.

Intel USB 3.0 Driver V 1.0.5.235 for Windows Win7 32bit & Win7 64bit

I'm guessing, it could be another issue.

USB 3.0 requires drivers to function. They are not "default equipment" like USB 2.0 and older.

You should be using the drivers that are for your motherboard -- get the latest version from the manufacturer's website.

any ideas?

First, never overclock new build while installing driver. It can cause corrupt file and other problems. The usb 3.0 problem is now 100% driver issue since you can't install it.

I recommend you to formate and reinstall windows since it's look like you got corrupted file and this is annoying as ...

It seems like there are fragments of the drivers files remaining. You're going to need to use something like DriverSweeper to get rid of them before you can reinstall.

Always run your system in for like a month before overclocking.

But I recommend just downloading an older driver and try installing that, sometimes I find newer drivers have issues with my system.  Even though my system is brand new pretty much.

Driver sweeper seems to have been discontinued and to do anything it looks like I need to buy the new software called Driver Fusion which I am not aboout to do...

are there any other programs you can recommend?

edit: I did manage to get the uninstaller running, but I still cannot install the driver. the same error keeps popping up. is there anything I can do or is my system just doomed to never use front usb 3.0 :(

Option1: Try the free version of driver fusion, then launch the usb3 driver installer as administrator.

Option2: System recovery to first boot in windows, then install all drivers and updates before overclocking.

Option3: Formate your PC.

There is more options, but I highly recommend doing the third one since it's a new build and it's sad when there already issues.
