I know, I feel bad for hijacking this guys thread to be honest, but oh well, is there any point in investing in some decent thermal paste to drop a few 'c?

It's more how you apply the paste, not what the paste is made of.

Thinnest layer possible and your cpu/cooler should be perfectly flat. Scratches are ok...that's why we use paste :P

Thanks for all the advise guys, will try it out.

Have fun!

What motherboard do you have? I apologize for the delay. I didn't see this post in my notifications for 3 hours.

There should be an area for the straight multiplier. I would disable turbo boost. Also, did you disable any power saving options? It may increase stability by disabling them.

i put in the bios 1.280 volts on the cpu and in windows it says under p95 load its at 1.236v. I had the LLC at medium. Any thoughts?

You probably don't need that high of voltage anyways(1.280 value), but how about trying to get LLC at its maximum?

So i got to 4.3 GHZ at a core voltage of 1.272v. I might keep going higher in a while but for now im gonna run this for 24 hours and test how it runs.

Okay. Great. What are your P95 temps so far? Also, try to lower your voltage. I'm running at 4.3GHz now and my voltage is sitting at 1.21 to 1.22. Unless your system becomes unstable at that voltage.

Max is 65, lowest is 61, its kinda hot in my room right now but it looks good so far.

Not bad. Especially for a hot room. What are your fan RPMs? Oh and, what's your cooler?

I have crappy fans right now, the highest rpm that they can go is 800rpm, so thats what they are running at. And I have a h100i

Are you gonna be replacing those fans at all?
