Music

Stigs

What kind of music do you listen to when your working, doing schoolwork, gaming, etc?  For me it's mostly classic rock, 80's rock, and alternative rock.

If there is already a thread about this, let me know and I will take this down.

Edit:

My current favorite album is Slash's Apocalyptic Love (2012).

I listen to anything from Celine Dion to Black Sabbath. Although, I don't like rapping or modern pop music or some other stuffs.

I think this thread is slightly different, but also a lot the same....I guess I'll keep it up for now.

Yeah, I agree that this thread is different enough. Over on http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/132230-what-song-are-you-listening-to-right-now/ it's a bit all over the place but you can get the specific music tastes of people here.

I like Motion City Soundtrack, Four Year Strong, Goodbye Holiday, Galileo Galilei, Olde Worlde, Czech no Republic, Tesla Boy, and Benjamin Francis Leftwich for my work jam.

I should be studying.

I've never heard of any of those, although I googled them and notice that Tesla Boy is a synthpop band, and I think the only synthpop band I've ever listened to is Yazoo.

I tend to stay away from anything too mainstream. Tesla Boy is da best. The bands listed are real gems though. Oh and Broadway Calls. They are from my home state of Oregon.

Celine Dion isn't mainstream? Right?

I might take a listen to some of those groups if I get a chance.

When im working i prefer to have some lighter rock in the background.

When im doing schoolwork i like having some audioslave or something in the background. Maybe some house music.

And when im gaming i need something heavy. Mostly NDH or Melodeath. If i have some kind of speedy rythm in the background i can beat most games on the highest difficulty.

When im driving i prefer some ZZ top or some classic rock.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for. For gaming most games I just keep either the OS or something low key, preferably ambient type things but other things like Doom Metal or Admospheric Black Metal work out nicely as well.

There's a few exceptions like when I play Skyrim in "fuck around" mode or Simcity 4 in which do not really require my undivided attention in which case anything I'm in the mood for. I do reserve more complex stuff like Prog, Prog Metal and Death Metal for when I'm more in a relax/fall asleep mode or doing light browsing since those sorts of music do require a lot more of my attention and I'm the kind of guy that just goes back and listens to a particularly good solo 3 or 4 times and things like that.

Classic Rock is great, one of my favourite genres. ZZ Top are smashing as well.

-ZZ Top - I Gotsa Get Paid-

I love that one. I love it so much, I'm going to stop my Black Sabbath playlist to listen to it.
