"Japan to crack down on anime and manga piracy"

TopWargamer

Did you watch Legend of Aang first, or you just went straight to Korra? Just curious.

I watched LoA first, then Korra. I know a lot of people prefer the older series, but I prefer the "world" of Korra and how they're developing the ideas... prefer the characters of the older series though.

Tea, Metal, and poorly written code.

Here are some of the sites that will be affected by this (starting from page 11) http://www.meti.go.jp/policy/mono_info_service/contents/downloadfiles/140414.pdf

You watch how anime and manga as well as things related start not selling and Japan will realise how piracy was a fantastic worldwide advertisement for this culture.

Wait... What exactly are they going to do against these websites? I see many sites I use on that list which worries me a bit (especially Nyaa).

I doubt anything will happen but it's still nice to know what they think they will be able to do.

They are planning to send out requests to take down all of the content that is legally available there under Copyright and other laws. For majority of those sites it means pretty much all of their content. For example BakaBT has already notified that they will not allow any new anime/manga on their site.

The BakaBT announcement was released almost a month ago and it doesn't seem to be related to this.

They stopped accepting offers for new shows because they have a pretty big backlog of shows to process. Remember, BakaBT goes through every single submissing, compares each release against each other and then only accept the best one. That takes quite a lot of time.

So it was didn't realise it was there for a month. Either way we will see what happens starting from August 1st.

I hate to break it to you but only the guy's in suits will see how much of a good thing it really is cause to be frank to the native fans it'll only be a good thing that westerners can't get their grubby mitts on it.
