Booting from USB not working

MohsenA

So I swapped motherboards and I need to reinstall windows. I use my brother's pc to switch it from cd to USB. When I plugged the USB into my pc and adjusted the settings so that it boots from the flash drive, I get this error on startup: please insert proper boot drive (or something like that)

I followed linus's guide to doing this and I still get this error..

Any advice?

Make sure you're properly making a bootable USB stick.

You can use Rufus, an open-source tool for making bootable USB drives

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4
