Mitsubishi makes fridges in case you're wondering. In the US, we only have Mitsubishi Motors, so I wouldn't be surprised if Hitachi made plenty of other products in different regions.

Hitachi makes everything from home appliances, air conditioning, construction machinery, agricultural machinery... Mitsubishi does too. They even make space probes. Hyundai makes ships, etc. Japanese and Korean industrial conglomerates make just about everything.

In regard of someone mentioning Sandy bridge, I found this regarding HASWELL. I found it to be a fun little fact.

The successor of the current Sandy Bridge generation was originally supposed to be called, Molalla, after a town in Oregon. However, that name isn't especially easy to pronounce in all languages, so the company looked for a different name. Eventually, Haswell was chosen. Haswell is "a town claiming the country’s smallest jail, Intel said."

And since there are non-swedish speakers among you i'll explain why this is funny.

Kuken is a swedish word that means. "The cock" (kuk is cock)

A local car repair shop only uses these tools and it was quite funny when i worked there.

They sell air tools. That includes impact wrenches

So when someone came in for a tire change and balance and asked

"Have you double checked the wheel nuts?" in swedish

I could respond with

"Behövs inte. Drog åt det med kuken". Which means "No need. I tightened them with my cock" 

The look on the customers face was always priceless. And when i showed them the impact gun with the word "kuken" on the side they would laugh their asses off  :lol:

 

This is also funny when they have sections on their site like.
