Randomly named file in C:\ Drive. Cannot delete or modify

SebMarsh

Hi all

I was just about to go into my program files and notice a strange file with a long, random name. (Shown below)

F9Hv4E3.png

Inside is an assortment of files named "1025, 1026, 1027" etc. and other things like .PNGs called "Splashscreen" or "Header" which I can't view. In fact, I'm unable to do anything with these files except see that they are there. Apparently I need "Special Permissions" which only belong to SYSTEM. I'm done a few checks before posting here and everyone seems to say these are Windows Update files left over. But those threads are able to delete the files and I can't delete these

Is this malware, spyware etc. of some kind? I've ran a full system scan on Avast! Antivirus and Malwarebytes and gotten no threats detected but I just wanted a second opinion.

What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Updates, .NET installers... Use CCleaner and try to see if you can delete them. Delete system restore points, etc.

Okay cool, I'll use CCleaner. You're probably right because I've very recently reinstalled the most recent .NET framework. A file like this just had me a little worried is all. Cheers.
