60c idle cpu bad

Is it bad if your cpu idles at around 60c?

That's pretty crazy.. A healthy temp is like 30-45

I know temps vary chip to chip but that seems rather hot.  Also depends on OC but yea... pretty hot.

 

I'm running a small OC and my idle temps are 30-40.

It's high forsure, but what matters more are your under load temperatures.

That's a bit hot, for idle. Would look into getting better cooling or reapplying thermal compound.

Have you just put that rig together OP? Think you may have cocked up when installing the CPU's heatsink.

Try taking off the heatsink, cleaning both it and the cpu then re-apply thermal paste, then reinstall the heatsink.

Well it seems a little too late for that, would it make sense for a pc motherboard to not show any sign of power because the cpu got toasted? Like the cpu fan won't even run if I turn my pc on. Or would that be a motherboard problem?

How old is this PC? there might have been dust in there that killed it. clean the heatsink and reapply thermal paste. make sure you have no overclocks.

Haven't overclocked ever and I built it around 8 months ago

It doesn't show any sign of power except my case fan's led is flashing when I hold down the power button. I'm positive the power supply works as well
