I just overclocked my i5 4670k to 4.2ghz. I changed the multiplier myself and set something to dynamic and enabled my xmp profile for memory and left everything else to auto on my MSI z87-g45 mobo. i took a photo while doing maximum power output on prime95. At the time of writing this i'm 10 minutes in and my cpu is at 90c. Sorry i'm not too sure on what everything is, i'm new to ocing. Some help would be really nice, thank you.

Also i thought i should mention that i run a h100i but keep the fans about 800rpm i think so they're quite.

if you haven't manually set the voltage then its' too high for 4.2ghz, or if its on auto, you should put it on auto and see what you can get it down to.

I tried 1.100 but it crashed on the test, on cpu z the voltage was like 1.3

just realised you're using prime 95. don't use it. use intel xtu instead.

Prime isn't recommended with Haswell CPUs. Try with XTU, Aida or OCCT. Voltage isn't that high so you should be getting more reasonable temps with those.

Is this on automatic or manual voltage? Try manually setting it to 1.2v and running AIDA64. Prime95 doesn't play nice on Haswell.
