How about the actual hard drives to run all those things? do you allready have them? otherwise you would need to ajust your current build.

I7 2600k @ 4,5GHz - 16GB Kingston 1600Mhz RAM - Asus Sabertooth P67 - Samsung 830 128GB SSD - 2x Caviar Black 1TB - ADATA 80GB Boot SSD - Club3D 7870 XT - 42" Panasonic 3D Led TV - 22" Samsung SyncMaster

I would recomend a AMD FX 8/6-core instead and use the money you save for some more ram. minecraft server use a shit ton of RAM.

And if you got some spare money then build a raid array of HDD's.

Main Rig: Intel Core i5 2500K @4.7Ghz, Noctua NH-U12s, Asus z68 V-Pro, Evga GTX 970, Samsung EVO 250Gb, Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600 MHz 16GB,fractal design define r3, XFX XXX 850W

Laptop: Clevo w230st, 13.3" 1080p screen,  CPU intel i5 4200M(Someone want's to donate a i7-4700qm? :P), 8gb ram 1600Mhz, Geforce gtx 765m, SSD: mSata Evo 120Gb(still room for one more), HHD: 1Tb 7200rpm,

So you would get more than 4 or 8 gb ram? And I never builded with amd platforms so I would like to stick with intel

AMD are just as easy, if not easier than Intel to build, but that's your choice. from my experiences with Minecraft and Tekkit/FTB hosting is that if you wan't to have a lagg free server you need RAM loads, of RAM.

When i hosted a FTB server i started with 3gb for the minecraftserver alone and when we where more then 4 on the server at the same time there was a little block delay.

So 8 gb should be fine?

Thanks fof help btw

it's all about how many players you are planning to have on the server  ;)

And i also see no reason why you need a xeon cpu, especially when you pairing it with a consumer grade motherboard and the i7 3770 is both cheaper and preform better

Where i live the xeon is quite a bit more expensive than the i7, so then go for the xeon. i have seen a few people that pay more for a xeon then an i7 just because it's an xeon

btw, with the xeon cpu you will not be able to use the onboard graphics as far as i know, so you will need a dedicated gpu.

I would go with the 8Gbs then afterwards if need another 8GB but maybe get 8Gb dims if you can that way you can rack up 32Gb of RAM over time if its need. Where I live you can get an 8Gb dim for $48 USD. From what I know with servers and I maybe very wrong you can just get 1333Mhz as the speed isn't going to help you so just get the cheapest RAM you can find

Go with the Noctua NH-L91: http://azerty.nl/0-976-562973/noctua-nh-l9i-.html

It's slightly cheaper and is only 1 db(A) louder: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6830/cpu-air-cooler-roundup-six-coolers-from-noctua-silverstone-and-cooler-master

This ram is cheaper and should do the job: http://azerty.nl/0-750-478347/crucial-ballistix-sport-.html

4gb sticks should be fine. I don't think you're going to use 32gb in the future--maybe 16.

The cx430 is a bit overkill for a system without a gpu. A good 300w bronze should do the trick: http://azerty.nl/8-1073-568313/be-quiet-system-power-7-300w.html

You don't need a z77 board for the xeon. A b75 should do fine and save you money: http://azerty.nl/0-4924-565659/asrock-p75-pro3-.html

If you really want the case for silence, that's up to you but the parts themselves are quite quiet and a cheaper case could do imo.
