Memory not on QVL List

Go to solution Solved by aricleather,

It doesn't matter. Those have just been tested and confirmed to work flawlessly with the motherboard. For example, my last motherboard worked perfectly with 2 kits of RAM, both of which weren't on the QVL.

I have an Asus Gryphon motherboard and I have been looking at the QVL list of supported memory. Does it matter if I buy a DDR3 memory kit not listed? I have been looking at some that have very similar numbers but not identical. I will stick with GSkill, Corsair or Kinsgton as I have had them before?
