PC just shuts down ?

Joseph Kelly

i have another psu here that im going to try but not a mobo

That's fine you only need one of them.

Test with the new PSU for a couple weeks and see if it happens again.

If it does, it is a mobo problem.

If it doesn't, it is a PSU problem.

Its fine, it will work. Just don't overclock your GPU or CPU when testing stuff.

so this is what i think it is...your mobo is "bad" thats the truth im sorry...I cant find it anywhere but i'd guess it cant even support the 125w tdp your cpu needs, so when you push your cpu it the motherboard gets overloaded, and shutsdown in order to protect itself, i might not be this, but im 90% sure its this, happened to me and took 4 months to find it lol

CPU: Amd fx 8120 3.9ghz...Motherboard: Asus m5a97 evo R:2.0...RAM: 8gb 1600 kingston hyperx blu...GPU: XFX R9 280x ...CASE: Nzxt h440...

HDD: Kingston adata ssd 500 gigs, wd blue 500gb...PSU: Corsair gs700...Monitors: Asus vk222h Cooler: Noctua nh-d14...Keyboard:coolermaster masterkeys m...Mouse: logitech g300...Headphones: Logitech g430

Im about 90% sure about this, but it'd be great to hear the opinion of someone that knows more than me, or has more experience @Enderman any ideas?

It's very likely the motherboard. There should be 0 issues with his Corsair 750W PSU.

The motherboard is probably getting overloaded on the power phases, so replacing it with a good quality overclocking board will fix this problem.
