What an exciting start!

In all seriousness though, a build log is better started when you've already begun the building process and what-not.

Seems decent, but I've never heard of Cryorig for cooling. Seems like an interesting cooler.

I'd like to ask you to not get those speakers. The controller is nice, though the blue LED is blinding. The satellite speakers buzz at higher volumes and the subwoofer is nothing special. Personally, I modded the satellite speakers and replaced the sub.

Also, that cooler is a hidden gem of sorts. A friend (co-worker?) of mine was doing a larger build and asked for my help. When he got the stuff in the mail, I went over, and got to see it hands-on. I like it, not sure how well it cools personally though.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

I got these speakers for free from a friend I think the sound good enough (I'm not an audiophile). I do agree the blue led is super bright but if it becomes a problem I will find a way tone it down. Plus I love the look of the satellite speakers.

Thanks for your opinion though.

Alrighty, fair enough for sure.

They're great budget speakers, but I work with video/audio, so it was irritating when I first got them after hearing much praise lol. They're not bad by any means; I still recommend getting a different sub, though, more bass is always nice  B)

Enjoy the build, man. I look forward to seeing more. I LOVE that case and cooler, and of course the Noctua fans. Do you plan on repainting them, or keeping their colour? They wouldn't look too bad at all in that case, I'm just curious.

Because the only reason to spend an extra $100 on a 4790k instead of a 4690k would be if he needed to do editing or rendering.

I am going to put them in the front as intakes. I don't think you will be able to see them so I am not planning on repainting.

Here is the cooler. It is massive! I am disappointed though I thought the ultimate came with white shrouds. Turns out the one with white shrouds is the universal that does not cool as much. So I have decided to paint the shrouds myself to make them white.

Or because you play games or like a better processor.

I don't know why everyone has to throw their 2 cents in when somebody buys a better processor by saying they don't need the extra power.

buying a 4790k over a 4690k will get you maybe 5 fps more in games.

buying a 780ti instead of a 780 will get you 20-50fps more.

What is better use of your money? Obviously a better GPU.

First of all a 780ti does not get 20 to 50 fps more in games.  Second, a 780ti is at least $150 dollars more than a 780 the difference between a 4790 and a 4690 is $100.  A 4790k has better performance all around than a 4690k so it is useful in other situations as well.  Also, you never made any comment about him getting a better GPU instead of a 4790k.  All you did is make some smug comment to make it look like you know something he doesn't.

From my perspective I think he was wondering if I would actually use the power of the 4790k.

Anyway let's play nice. Everybody love everybody.

If that was his intention fine.  I just don't understand why people have to scoff at the idea of buying a 4790k instead of the 4690k like you're just pissing money away by doing so.
