It's not a strict definition. If a case seems large compared to most cases people consider mid towers, you can say it's a large mid tower or perhaps a full tower.

Here's my ideal PC case standard.

Super Tower - 8 or more PCIE slots, support for EATX, a separate area for PSU and water cooling.

Full Tower - 8 or more PCI slots, support for up to EATX

Mid Tower - 6 or 7 PCI slots, support for up to ATX

Mini Tower - 4 - 5 PCI slots, support for up to Micro ATX

ITX Tower - 2 PCI slots, support for Mini ITX

Media Tower - 2 low-profile PCI slots, Support for Mini ITX

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4

I agree, I would just add support for HPTX at "Super Tower".
