Which Fans + H80i?

Hi guys, so I'm looking into getting a Corsair H80i, and I'm torn on fans (Noctua NF-F12s vs Corsair SP120s).

My chrome decided to go back a page, and deleted my whole post as I reached for "post" so I'm going to sum this up.

I'm getting 3 fans (2 for H80i, 1 for case).

I really like the look of the Noctua fans for some reason, but I feel it wouldn't look the best in my case (Zalman Z11 -it has a window, and blue LEDs, so I SP120s with blue rings would probably look better then Noctua's). But really I'm looking for best performance, and the quietest, so I'll be perfectly happy with either.

My rig is as follows:

AMD FX-8320

Gigabyte 990fx-UD3

8gb Ripjaws RAM

GTX 770 2gb

Zalman Z11 Case

INCLUDING the price of the H80i, I can get:

3 Corsair SP120s + H80i = $156.97 CAD

3 Noctua NF-F12s + H80i = $189.96 CAD

Just because of the price of the Corsairs alone I'm leaning towards them, but if the Noctuas are going to be more quiet and have better preformance, I might lean towards them.

Thanks for any help!

*snip*

Then you already know the answer. Go with Noctua. They are quieter and they do give better performance than the SP's. Only gripe you can have with them is the color and you don't mind it so... Noctua and enjoy :)

Thanks. I was fairly sure that Noctua was better in regards of performance and sound levels, just wasn't 100%.

Since they're a bit more pricey, I guess I can always just grab 2 for my H80i for about $160, and stick with my stock case fans until I feel like upgrading.

Thanks for the help.

I got my H80i's not too long ago and the stock SP120's are just too loud so I replaced them with a pair of after market Quiet Edition SP120's. It also has 3-pin adapter which you can use to undervolt the fans to 7v and make them even quieter. Now I can barely hear the fans.

It still keeps my 4670k @ 4.2 GHz below 70C under stress test load so I'd say it is a very decent set of fans. Looks cool too, with the colored rings. B-)

Oh okay. I'm fairly sure it will preform well enough for me, under load I've been hitting around 60C in my AMD (temps can't go as high as intel), so I presume it should sit at a decent temp.

I'm pretty confident it will preform perfectly fine, since I'm not OCing my CPU, and if I do, I won't OC a lot, just a little.

Do you guys think it would be worth it to spend another $20 and get the H100i instead? I feel pretty confident that the H80i will be perfectly fine, but I'm no expert.

I can also ask at my local shop too.
